The Post Office Mix-Up

Things are starting to heat up at the Singapore office as we started our Etsy shop last week. (Visit it at http://www.riverkidsproject.etsy.com!) I'll be adding new stuff every now and then.

I register our Etsy shop products at the post office before mailing them off to the recipents since they are usually one-offs and it would be difficult to replace them if they get lost in the mail. I sent off one of our Etsy orders at the nearby post office, registered it as usual and walked right back to the office. Once I reached the office, I stapled the registered mail form to the invoice and took a second look at the form.

I WROTE THE FREAKING WRONG ADDRESS ON! I ADDED AN EXTRA '1' TO THE ADDRESS! So, instead of '813', I had '8113'.

I cursed and swore (wouldn't want to repeat the words I said then), and scrambled around for the phone number of the post office. (Dale was pretty amused to hear me swear.) But since it was already officially closed, nobody picked up. So I grabbed my file of Etsy invoices and ran to the post office (which was a good 10-minute walk away - my stamina is surprisingly good for somebody who doesn't exercise often). I reached there in about 5 minutes, knocked on the glass door and pleaded with them to open up so I can check the address on my parcel. The woman shook her head and gestured that they were closed for the day. I pleaded and pleaded and explained my reason for being there.

She relented and opened the door for me.
I rummaged through the bag of outgoing parcels for the day and found the parcel I was looking for.

The right address was on the envelope.
I copied the wrong address on the registered mail form.

I made myself run for the wrong reason. I'm slightly miffed at myself for running out just like that.
Anyway, that's just today. Thank goodness I don't usually copy the wrong address on the registered mail form.
