Groupswim has done us a great favour and in return here's a little thank you note by Dale for them. :)
Riverkids had too much help (I know, how's that possible? *g*) We had lots of people contacting us about projects, volunteering and more, and no easy way to organise any of this. At first, we stuck to email and then we tried using a full-blown intranet but it was either too much or too little.
And like Goldilocks, we stumbled across "just right": Groupswim.
Groupswim is a Web 2.0 application, which basically means everything is organised on one screen with a few clicks. It's super-easy to use so people don't waste time figuring out how to make posts or replies, but just go right to a conversation and contribute.
We set ours so the sign-up process is fast and easy. We've got an events calendar and we're starting our 'advice circles', with the Kindergarten Advisory Circle just started.
And best of all? When we'd hit over fifty people posting after two months, the Groupswim staff contacted us about pricing plans. We told them about the work we do and our tight budget. And they said go ahead and use it for free.
People like that and software like this rock.
Thanks Groupswim!
