Bit by bit, we get better!

Last year, we had the kindergarten kids brushing their teeth, and some teachers remembering for the older kids, dentists only for urgent care.

Now we have new toothbrushes every six months, teethbrushing required by all the school kids when they're with us, encouraged at home and for the weekly boarders, after meals. We've had dental check-ups arranged, and we've been taking kids for dental care regularly.

In Singapore, we're soon to move into a very tiny little office. We're also diving into Salesforce and Convio's CommonGround, thanks to generous support. Lots of small positive steps.

Our daily work is pretty ordinary stuff - taking kids to doctors, drawing up schedules, cooking better meals - but that's GOOD. There are runaways and fights - one kid managed to nearly break another's arm this week! - but that's what we're trying to stop.

So next time someone asks about Riverkids' mission? It's to make the slums of Phnom Penh as boring as possible *g*.
