Temasek IIT Volunteers

This week Riverkids welcomed a group of volunteers from Temasek IIT school in Singapore. The group included 17 students, 1 teacher and 1 group organizer. The team was coordinated by Mr. Jackie Goh who donated the computers that are currently being used in the new Riverkids computer room.

On Tuesday, the volunteers bravely ventured outside in a downpour to paint a mural on the side of the family house. Now almost all the available space on the outside of the family house is brightly painted with pictures of flowers and animals.

On Wednesday, the volunteers threw a party for all the kids from the kindergarteners to the Get Ready girls. The kids had a "dress-up” contest where they used recycled materials to make crazy costumes. The volunteers also taught the kids some dances and were brave enough to demonstrate the dances themselves in front of all the kids (which, of course, the kids found hilarious). When the games were over, the kids got to enjoy a snack that the volunteers had bought and prepared for them.
