Traditional dancing!

Classes have just started at Alexandra, fortnightly from October 17th. We have two teachers who teach traditional khmer dancing for an hour and a half then after a break, talk to them about khmer culture. Dance was and is so central to Khmer culture, because of music and stories, and the kids just soak it up.

We pay about US$40 each session, pretty comparable to our breakdancing classes which go on alternate weeks.

Everytime we add an activity, we have to think how much it's going to cost in cash, staff time, space and also the time it takes away from the kids' schoolwork.

Our current rule of thumb is cheap activities that encourage creativity, self-discipline and teamwork.
