Singapore River Market Fair

I just got back from Cambodia but haven't had much time to do a blog update on things that happened up at Alexandra and Blum. But things have been going great though there are a few medical issues that are abit worrying. We'll update on that in the next few days.

Anyway, since coming back, I've been busy looking for volunteers for the up coming Singapore River Market Fair. If you're interested and in Singapore this weekend, just drop me an email at angeline@riverkidsproject.org!

Our main draw this time round would be paper roses made by 2 of the Riverkids parents who are also under our new microfinancing scheme. The microfinancing scheme is fairly new and we're still working out the best way to go about doing this. For now, Riverkids provides funds and purchases materials for them to make paper roses. The roses are then sold and part of the profits goes back to the parents. A fairly simple concept but getting parents to step up to be involved in starting a micro business has proven hard. But we'll still try anyways.

So do come by and support the Riverkids parents!

More of the Get Ready! girls dresses will be up on display and sold at the fair, including little dolls which reminds me of Heli, our Kindergarten Coordinator from Sweden. Drop by our booth and see what I mean!
