STAND UP events at Riverkids Community

On October 18, 2008 more than 200 Riverkids’ children including kids from kindergarten, grade school and get-ready girls were offered a big meal from Sister Evon representing SIA 5Cs group, together with our regular donors of Riverkids along with some of her friends, Mr. Joseph, Silk Air manager and Mrs. Christine and Alex.

From the SIA 5Cs, Sister Evon not only offered this great meal, but she also brought along with an important message to the children, their family and the community as a whole inspiring all of us to stand up and fight against poverty which is affecting our people.

We had a field work paying direct visit to the community and meeting with parents. We had explained them, brought them awareness about the issue and sought for their strong support. During our visit, we witnessed that many people were jobless and wasted their time drinking alcohol. We were not hesitated to go to them and explained about our campaign. We received full support from them. They happily thumbed on the paper to show their support.

As all of you know, after a long suffering civil war, Cambodia was badly destroyed economically and socially. At the present, many of Cambodian girls have fallen into the victims of sexual trafficking, homelessness, and labor exploitation and have lost their opportunity to get education. Thank to support and assistance from our donors, international NGOs, and national NGOs that give hope to the Cambodian children to some extent. Among local NGOs, Riverkids Foundation has been implementing its projects and activities to rescue over 200 children in target community. All of them have been provided with education, food, day care, medical and love.

We insistently request for your kind support in anyway possible for you. Your support inspire to step-by-step change of future of the children. We could guarantee that any of your donations will reach to the children.
