Riverkids Blum Fundraiser!

A big round of applause for Lesley Gordon who singlehandedly (whilst balancing a new born on one hip and a 17 month old on the other hip) raised $4000 USD for Riverkids Blum's House!

Last year, Lesley offered to hold annual fundraisers for Blum in Jakarta. The inaugral event was a great night out with drinks, delicious nibbles and lots of generous and fantastic people. They had a raffle, an auction, a Riverkids market stall, a wishing tree and a live Jazz band.


The night capped with a fabulous raffle of 25 great prizes rounded up by Lesley, and auction prizes contributed by the lovely John and Anny Cvetko who single-handedly raised US$800.

Lesley's passion for helping children will be realised in Blum's new community center and library, built and equipped with the funds raised from this night out!

Blum's house now is a small two-story building near the railway slum. There's a small courtyard that just needs to be sheltered to make a safe and welcoming place for children to play and read in. We'll be able to use it for messy outdoor workshops or extra events during classroom time.
