The Education Department, which plays a very important role in Riverkids Foundation, developed a new way to monitor the children’s progress and assist them to improve. There are 5 categories for the classes – Grade Class, Get Ready Girl Class, Get Ready Boy Class, Kindergarten Class and English Class.

The teachers in Riverkids are not only qualified and experienced, they take teaching very seriously and treat the kids like their own. They adopt an interactive approach in their teaching style and are able to manage the kids and classes efficiently.

Recently, our Kindergarten Teacher, Neang Sothida came up with an idea to evaluate the performance of children in class. Evaluation boxes were created and these were brilliant to monitor the kids’ behavior, character and studies.

The result of the evaluation is done once a month to find out which kids can do well so that they will be rewarded with treats such as dolls, ice-cream, toys, and others. For kids who need to make extra strides, we will have tighter hand-holding until we see improvements.

“With the 3 months training and guidance from Heily, the New Zealand Kindergarten trainer, I am glad I was able to develop this evaluation method. I am very pleased to see that the kids in my classes are happy when they were shown the individual boxes made for them”, said Thida.
